With school back in full swing and daily lunches to be packed we thought we’d share some of our, and our littles’, favorite go-to eat. Nothing new or fancy, just some classic staples we resort to with ease for their packed lunch. Kids have enough to worry about during a typical school day, so a stress-free, nutritious, and yummy lunch is one of our favorite ways to extend some love while they are away. Find out what your moppets will enjoy eating, and keep it fresh by rotating their favorites and incorporating new foods they have proven to enjoy at home. When they have something stressful like a spelling test surprise them with a sliver of dark chocolate or a cookie and a handwritten note from mom.
TURKEY + HAM SANDWICH
Corchicon pickles (or whatever you have)
Avocado (optional of course)
GREEK YOGURT PARFAIT
Plain greek yogurt
Granola (homemade or store-bought)
Berries (we used strawberries, blueberries and raspberries)
CHEESE + CHARCUTERIE
Cheese (personal preference here–my son thinks he’s french and indulges in all types but typically a hard cheese stays the freshest)
SUNFLOWER SEED + BANANA SANDWICH
Sunflower seed butter (So many kids have nut allergies these days which is why we play it safe with sunflower seed butter.)
Sliced grilled chicken
Guacamole / Avocado
Here are some of our favorite seasonal fruit…. best received when sent in a small stainless container to avoid bruising for those picky eaters… Add a sliver of dark chocolate or a cookie for an extra special treat.
